WHAT IS A CADET PILOT PROGRAMME?

A cadet pilot programme is a self sponsored- programme in which the aspirant after completing a set of entrance tests undergoes flight training under the watchful eye of the airline, and on successful completion of the course is offered a job with the airline.

A pre-contract or "Letter of Intent" is signed by the candidate who has successfully passed all stages of the airline entrance tests before the programme initiates.

WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?

Currently in India, there are three airlines offering these programmes; IndiGo Airlines, SpiceJet and AirAsia.

Each airline has a different approach in their recruitment as well as day-to-day functioning, however each test for the same qualities and require top notch, committed and hard working pilots. 

What is the entrance process?

Each airline has their individual pre-requisite requirements as well as entrance tests. However, they're testing for the same abilities; multitasking, english language proficiency, basic math and physics skills.

Finally, you will be subjected to an interview panelled by senior Captains and HR personnel.

What is the eligibility criteria?

While every airline airline has a varying criteria, broadly speaking you must be between 18 to 32 years of age, hold an Indian Passport and have the unrestricted right to work in India as well as be at least a 10+2 pass with 51% in maths, physics and english.
